SEAPAX Holiday Party

Join us for our annual end of the year/holiday party! This is typically our biggest event of the year. All are welcome, but be sure to RSVP. This year’s event will be hosted in the Greenwood neighborhood. Some street parking is available, but carpooling or public transportation is recommended. Please bring a food or drink item to share. We look forward to celebrating the holiday season together!

When: Saturday, December 14th
Time: 4-8 PM
Where: Private home in the Greenwood neighborhood. RSVP for the address.

Potluck Item: Food or drink item. Bring a label and serving utensils.

Happy Hour

1st Wednesday HH: Oct. 2nd is the monthly Pub Quiz at Canterbury Ales in Cap Hill, 534 15th Ave E at 7 PM. We'll have a pitcher of Rainer thanks to last month's prize win.

3rd Wednesday HH: Oct. 16th and we are heading to Uptown Hophouse at 5 PM, 219 1st Ave N, Seattle.

RSVP before noon the day of the event on Facebook or email so we can get enough seats.

Book Club

October's book on Oct. 6th from 3-5 PM is Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah. Location: Boon Boona Coffee, 724 S 3rd St, Renton, WA 98057.

Two Beers with Pangea Giving

Join us for a SEAPAX-Pangea Happy Hour and learn how an international giving circle works and share your experiences and thoughts about what is needed in the countries and rural communities in which SEAPAX volunteers served and Pangea grant partners work. And enjoy a beer or two on us!

Pangea Giving is a Seattle-based giving circle that funds grassroots community projects in Latin America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. Learn more on the website or asking a member on Thursday, November 7, 5:30–8 PM.

SEAPAX Grants Committee

The Grants Committee is open to new members. If you would like to join the Grants committee, please contact Ilene.

Calendars are back!

Calendars will be available at SEAPAX events and via mail order for $15 dollars each. Purchase five or more at one time for $13 each. Proceeds support SEAPAX's small grants program.

Movie Night

Join us for a SEAPAX movie night! We will be playing two movies that take place in or involve South Africa, Yesterday and Searching for Sugar Man. Space is limited, so we will only be able to accommodate the first 10 people who RSVP. Feel free to bring snacks or a dish to share.

Start time: 5 PM
Location: Private residence in Seattle Wallingford neighborhood. RSVP to get details.

Mt. Baker RPCV Potluck

The next Mt. Baker RPCV potluck will be Saturday, Oct. 5th at 6 PM at Sue D.'s house, 405 Hillcrest Way, Bellingham. There is ample parking on the street and behind her house.

Ashley Hollenbeck, Executive Director at the Institute for Village Studies, will tell us about a program in Vietnam which is modeled the Peace Corps. This year, they had ten students from WWU, four from Japan, one from Nepal, and 16 from different regions in Vietnam.

RSVP to Sue. Remember your reusable plates, utensils, etc. and bring a casserole, salad, bread or dessert and something you like to drink.
