Peace Corps Week Story Slam - Moments That Inspired Or Moved Me During Service
ilmed 05 March, 2021.
Currently, our in-person Pub trivia, Happy Hours, and Eat Outs Dinners are canceled until further notice.
Please check the calendar for virtual Happy Hours. We plan to resume these in-person events that do so much to extend the sense of community and friendship here at home in Seattle in the future as soon as we are able.
We look forward to seeing you again and continue checking in to this page for more information on when we can resume our in-person events.
Happy Hours + Pub Trivia
Pub Trivia: The FIRST Wednesday is the monthly pub quiz meet-ups. We can be found at Canterbury Ale House in Capitol Hill, taking part in the "Geeks Who Drink" quiz at 7pm and goes as late as 9pm. We have a table reserved so look for a sign as early as 6pm but we suggest getting there by 6:30pm. This is a great event for those looking to bring a non-RPCV along and not have them get bored as we end up talking about our service experiences only we find funny.
Happy Hour: The THIRD Wednesday is our Happy Hour which travels around the city of Seattle. We try our best to get out to the different parts of the city at least once a year. We encourage suggested locations so we can get to where the RPCVs live and work. Always check the website, Facebook Pageand/or newsletter for the latest location. Plan for the event to start at 5:30 but times depend on location. While RSVPs are not required to attend any of these events, head counts help us reserve a space big enough.
We want to extend the sense of community and friendship here at home in Seattle. To keep it fun, there are some strict rules that everyone must abide by:
Age restriction: You must be at least 21 but younger than the oldest RPCV in attendance.
If you’re a recent RPCV, unemployed and looking for a job… someone owes you a drink and some free words of wisdom.
No one is required to drink. The point of happy hour is to be happy. If alcohol is not your thing, that is totally fine.
Spouses, significant others, children, plants and pets are welcome.
English is not the official language! Do you know how to say “Hello”, “Thank you” and “Please, stop feeding me, my stomach is going to explode” in a second, maybe even third language? If so, RPCV Happy Hour is calling you.
Just because Peace Corps was “the hardest job you ever loved,” doesn't mean you don’t deserve a break. If you cannot join us this month, clear your calendar for the next! Location will be posted on the calendar and social media.
Eats Out Dinner
Do you like Ethiopian injera? Or maybe El Salvadorean pupusa? Want to try a new dish? Our Eats Out dinners are quarterly and give us an opportunity to taste Seattle. Restaurants are chosen throughout Seattle neighborhoods that serve food typically found in countries where many RPCVs have served.
Other SEAPAX Events (e.g. hikes, networking events, etc.)
