Fall is upon us, so let's warm up with Dim Sum! Harbor City Restaurant is a straight forward, very popular dim sum staple in the International District, serving classic eats via menu and roaming carts. No dim sum experience needed, just a willingness to order based on key words, faith, and aesthetics. Those with dim sum experience, please come and help the rest of us order. Please RSVP to events@seapax.org and let us know to expect you. We may not be able to accommodate drop-ins.

Ask non-profits in your network if they need a small grant and encourage them to apply! Check out the details and applications on the SEAPAX website under the Grants tab.
Advocacy Update
The Sam Farr and Nick Castle Peace Corps Act of 2018 was passed by the Senate and will now be sent to the President for his signature. You may recall that Nick Castle was a Peace Corps volunteer who lost his life at age 23 due to inadequate health care while serving in China in 2013. According to an inspector general report, it was determined that flaws in the medical care Nick received and the response to his illness contributed to his death.
While not all the provisions the Health Justice for Peace Corps Volunteers (HJPCV) affiliate group lobbied for were included in the bill, Glenn Blumhorst, President of NPCA, believes "critical reforms" will contribute to increased transparency for prospective applicants, stronger requirements for overseas health care personnel, and continued support for Peace Corps survivors of sexual assault or other forms
of violence.
Follow this link to read the legislation and press releases regarding the bill.
