About the Movie
A Towering Task is a documentary film that tells the Peace Corps story through powerful interviews with host country nationals, volunteers and staff, and scholars and journalists who put the story of the Peace Corps into context. Voices from all over the world share not only the work and impact, but also the challenges, of half a century of peacebuilding and diplomacy. You can find more information about the movie here.
Film Screening
The screening is FREE and UNLIMITED viewing will be available on the day of the event from 9a - 11:59p for all registrants. A link to the video, which will be streamed on the Vimeo platform, and an access password will be sent via email to all registered participants on the day of the event.
Options to donate to SEAPAX will be provided at the time of registration. Donations will be used to support future SEAPAX activities and events. We appreciate any financial contribution that you are able to make.
Question and Answer Session with the Director of the Film Alana DeJoseph
Starting at 6p on the day of the event (7/18), we will be hosting a Zoom video-conference with Alana DeJoseph. Alana is a former Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Mali from 1992-1994. Zoom participants will have the opportunity to interact with and ask Alana questions about her film and experience in the Peace Corps.
The Zoom video-conference access and login details will be sent to registered participants on the day of event in the same email that will contain information on how to access the video.
Event Registration
Registration through our website is required to participate in this event (both the film screening and Q/A with Alana DeJoseph).
Of note, at the time of registration you will be asked the question "May we share your contact information?" Please mark this box if you would like to be added to Alana DeJoseph's emailing list. Your contact information will not be shared with anybody else, and if you do not mark this box, it will remain private and will not be released.
